A poker table, a few hands of Hold 'Em, and more than a few glasses of bourbon brought together Brandi Bowles, Victoria Horn, and Kate Rosante, and an idea to make a bourbon curated by, and for, women's palates.

While they've followed different paths, their passion for whiskey helped them create a quality spirit anyone can enjoy, from the seasoned drinker to the first timer. Bonus: for every bottle sold, a tree is planted.

A wine-loving, ad exec, Mai Vu had an a-ha moment while drinking her first bag-in-box since college. She realized that the wine was of surprisingly good quality and a week later, still fresh. Light bulb.

She talked to winemakers, researched the beverage industry, took her WSET, did rounds of financing and started Maivino; a collection of vegan wines with a carbon footprint of 80% less than a standard bottle.
